union square greenmarket

Everyone knows that if you want good food, whether it be some swank five-star rave review joint or some barely there hole-in-the-wall homestyle cooking, New York City never fails to disappoint. Global cuisine, street food, rooftop gardens, this particular hub of eclectic tastes, named for a particular fall fruit after all, brings to the city an entirely new level of freshness via the Union Square Greenmarket.

Tables for DAYS (140 vendors in total!), days I tell you, of fresh, local produce, breads, fish, even beautiful flowers, the Greenmarket (open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays), located on the north and west sides of Union Square Park, is a big, beautiful blur of sights and smells.

Some particularly catching photos from last week's visit.
